When I left my job as a television reporter and news anchor I embraced the opportunity to learn more about our political system and become engaged in the election process.
For three years I've been traveling the state of Minnesota attending events and listening to the experts, including my friends and neighbors here in Senate District 11. I've met some amazing people. In some instances I have had the opportunity to meet our representatives who either serve or have served in office. I've learned a lot. Being a candidate for office can be a joyful experience. I love retail politics and the opportunity to listen to the people I seek to represent in St. Paul. There will be a lot of joy in the year to come as I knock on doors, attend community gatherings, visit coffee shops and hold listening sessions in Senate District 11. I'm in it to win it, but I can't do it alone. Please join my campaign as a volunteer. Consider making a campaign donation to my campaign, Michelle Lee for State Senate. As we head into 2020, there has never been a more critical time to engage in the process. Make plans now to attend your precinct caucuses. If you haven't registered to vote please put it on your to-do list and check it off. Join The Minnesota Democratic Farmer Labor Party. Attend the party's county or local unit meetings and don't forget to support those local fundraisers! The DFL party believes that every Minnesotan has a right to stable employment with fair wages, to a proper education, to raise and provide for a family, to accessible and affordable healthcare, to live in safe communities, and to retire with dignity and security. We have made a lot of progress over the course of our party’s history, but there is still much more to do to ensure no one is left behind. Together, we will continue to build an even better Minnesota for all Minnesotans.
