The rain stopped just minutes before we stepped out for the Moose Lake, Minnesota parade today. The weather was an exact repeat when we arrived in Cloquet for our second Fourth of July Parade. Hundreds of people of all ages lined the streets in both cities wearing red, white and blue--many waving small American flags. It was wonderful to see so many friends and neighbors lining the routes to celebrate America's independence. Days like today bring out the best--regardless of political affiliation. Today we celebrate family, community and country. From good paying jobs to accessible healthcare to quality education for our children....I know there are dozens of issues we agree on. Let those issues become the building blocks to a greater understanding of one another as we move forward together in this great experiment known a Democracy.
